For those of you who keep chickens you’ll know what a bunch of hooligans they are, leaving a whirlwind of destruction and devastation in their wake.
Our three are particularly proficient at digging up vegetables and annihilating herbs, so I decided to make them a sign.
Jo has a gun and a bad attitude, Henry has a bazooka and the will to use it, and George is just crazy enough to detonate the entire garden.
Oh, and I know they have boy’s names, they’re short for girl’s names.
That’s Georgie in the picture, and she isn’t impressed that I’m telling you what a rascal she is. She went on to dig up the onions and ravage the carrots after glaring at the sign.
I started by just sketching some simple chicken cartoons, then added fire-power. The first sign was done with my old fixed-point iron, and the second with my new wire-point. I think the second one is better. They were varnished, and can be drilled with holes to fix them to a fence or wall etc. Let me know if you’d like one for your garden.
This one is done on 7 by 5 inch birch ply, which is then varnished to weatherproof it. Because they’re scribed by hand they’re all individual, and this second one is currently available on our
