Butterflypalooza

I love butterflies so we planted a butterfly bush in the hopes of attracting them, but all we ever saw was the odd passerby. Until this week. One day they just started turning up and now we have hundreds of them checking out the butterfly bush and covering another nearby, presently unidentified, shrub (if you can tell me what it is please leave a comment). It was perfect timing as I had suggested this quote to Chris and he finished a sign with it this week, so I had a good excuse to spend lots of time taking pictures of the butterflies.

“What the caterpillar thinks is the end of the world … the butterfly knows is just the beginning”

I found a few other quotes that I rather like so I thought rather than letting Chris have all the fun, I would see what I could come up with. Plus it counts towards my 30 Days, 30 Minutes challenge. What do you think?

Here are a few others. My favourite is the butterfly with her tongue stuck out! The purple one is obviously a ‘little’ tampered with, which is not normally my style – but Chris really likes it. I would really like a second opinion as his eye sight is a little dodgy!! :p

OK, so that last picture isn’t a butterfly, but he was just so cute.

For anyone who might be interested (and just in case my Dad is still reading) … the butterflies we are getting in large quantities are all Small Tortoiseshells, but we are also being visited by Common Blues, Small Whites, Peacocks, Red Admirals, Meadow Browns and a Brimstone. Or at least that is who I have spotted so far.
