What a Week

This has been a really good week. First off is the plaque I was commissioned to do by the Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre for their honorary president Margaret Thomas.

YVS Honorary President plaque

Margaret has been diagnosed with cancer and it was very important for the centre to do something special for her, as she has been instrumental in the success of the YVC and works tirelessly for many good causes in both our community and around the world, so I felt privileged to be asked to do the sign.

Heidi and I were invited to the annual general meeting to see the presentation, and Margaret loved the plaque, which I found very rewarding.

As you may have seen from a previous post I did a sign advertising the Ystrad Recycling Centre for them to use at craft shows, and because they liked it so much they’ve asked me to teach a pyrography class there.

I’m both thrilled and terrified at the prospect. Expect future posts on its success or failure.

And then, to cap it all off, we made our first sale on etsy. Someone who saw my work and liked it, and isn’t a family member or a friend. Swish!

Not only that, he liked my stuff so much that when we offered him a 10% off coupon he bought another two items! Double swish! Thank you customer number one.

If you’d like to buy anything I’ve scorched at the superhot 10% off price then hop over to our etsy shop and key in the coupon code FIRSTBLOG

But be quick, it only lasts till Sunday night!

I loved reading your blog today. I’m so pleased for you and you deserve it, your work is wonderful. I look forward to reading how your classes go but I’m sure they will be a success.

      Thanks Cath, I appreciate that.
I’m not sure how I’ll be as a teacher, I don’t even have a tweed jacket to sew leather elbow patches on, but I’ll try not to make anyone stand in the corridor if they talk during lessons.
Looking forward to the supply of apples though.
