We are Chris, the Scorch-Scribe, an artist, poet and pyrographer who writes in rhyme and draws in fire. And Heidi the Shutter-Nutter, a programmer and photographer who loves to escape from her computer to capture the natural world. In April 2016 our two became a three when Alex, our little storm-pooper joined us.

US Us 3

We started Hectic Eclectic back in 2013, when we lived in the wilds of Wales as a means of sharing Chris’ art and poetry and Heidi’s photography, and as a platform to sell some of Chris’ pyrography creations to prevent our house from becoming too cluttered!

A year later we moved to the Somerset levels, within site and influence of Glastonbury Tor, where we kept a small flock of Shetland sheep, an eclectic collection of poultry, a cowardy-custard-cat called Ollie and a rather beligerant Charlie Chow.

Two years on and we’re back in Wales, in the Rhonda on the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons. We still have our sheep, who went and had sheep of their own. They live on the farm next door and turn up at the fence every so often looking for treats.

Ollie still has a yellow belly, but is a fraction more gutsy now he can roam around the grounds here, and Charlie is still as handsome and belligerent as ever.

And the chickens? Well, one of them lives on the farm with lots of new friends, and there’s a fox around here somewhere with some very well fed cubs!
